P-8A Poseidon Lab Technician

Job Responsibilities:

Positional duties involve applying engineering techniques and principles to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, and/or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, armament/ordnance, or related data processing systems for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft Systems Test Integration Lab. Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares, or applies engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures. Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components. Compiles, processes, reduces, or analyzes test data results. Performs Technical Directive (TD) and Airframe Change (AFC) wiring installations in laboratories and on Fleet aircraft. Position is located in Patuxent River, MD. Requisition: ESI0060.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Requires a HS diploma/GED and 5 years of development, integration, testing, training, and/or operational experience with P-3C Orion or P-8A Poseidon aircraft/laboratory mission systems/software.
  • Requires the completion of a military technical school, trade school, or completion of 30 semester hours in a technical discipline at an accredited college.
  • Specific technical and maintenance experience with MPRA platforms and/or laboratories such as the P-8A Poseidon, P-3C Orion, and/or the MQ-4C Triton is required.
  • Additional experience in network configuration/ troubleshooting and Fiber Optic cable fabrication/repair is highly desired.
  • Must be able to obtain/retain a Top Secret level DoD security clearance.

Electrical Engineer, Junior

Job Responsibilities:

This position will provide technical support to the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Branch. Responsibilities include applying engineering principles to research, design, develop, test, and/or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. This position involves analyzing designs, developing, implementing, testing, and/or evaluating software related to engineering or functional requirements of simulation systems, associated support systems, and/or management information systems. May be required to perform other tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Requisition: ESI0059.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Requires a BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited ABET college or university; OR an AA/AS Degree plus an additional four (4) years of related experience; OR a HS diploma/GED with an additional six (6) years of related experience may be substituted for the BS degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, possess a valid US driver’s license, pass a drug screening test according to U.S. Government standards, and obtain and retain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes and equivalent equipment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint is highly desired.
