Propulsion & Power Controls Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Providing technical services and support for test and evaluation activities of aviation propulsion fuels and lubricants, rotor spin facilities, power generation accessories, unmanned air vehicles, and helicopter transmission programs. Location: NAS Patuxent River, MD. Requisition: ESI0030.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BS degree in electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics from an accredited ABET college/university and a broad technical knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and electronic data acquisition, reduction, and processing systems.
  • At least 8 years of experience supporting RDT&E programs for military aircraft/weapon systems.
  • Must have demonstrated experience providing major aviation electronics and/or instrumentation subsystems design, analysis, procurement, and engineering guidance.
  • Experience in test facility control systems for test article & facility operations and instrumentation development/design for control of engine and mission systems simulations is preferred.
  • The ability to obtain/retain a Secret level DoD security clearance.

Sr. Electrical Engineer

Sr. Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Functions involve applying engineering principles to modify and upgrade laboratory electrical and instrumentation systems in support of power and propulsion RDT&E programs. Prepares procurement specification inputs, interface drawings, installation design packages, and calibration procedures to accommodate unique test requirements. Oversees systems modifications, installation, integration, and checkout functions. Performs test planning, data collection, and test data analysis. Candidate may be required to perform other tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Requisition: ESI0029.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS degree in electrical engineering from an accredited ABET college or university.
  • At least 8 years of experience supporting RDT&E programs for military aircraft/weapon systems, including 6 years performing installation, configuration, calibration, and operation of one or more of the function areas listed below:
    • Engine test systems
    • Environmental chambers
    • Associated instrumentation and/or data acquisition systems used for testing propulsion and electrical power systems
  • Capable of managing programs including writing proposals, developing program plans, and providing briefing material
  • US Citizenship
  • Secret Level DoD security clearance
  • Prior DoD acquisition work experience is preferred

Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Functions entail providing support for electrical power quality testing and evaluation, including voltage and frequency transients/modulation, voltage distortion, and power interruption on various aircraft, shipboard, ground vehicle, and vendor prototype components and equipment. Additionally, the candidate will interface test articles with programmable power supplies and data acquisition equipment to conduct power quality tests, followed by analysis of test article responses for compliance with MIL-SPECS/MIL-STDs. In particular, candidate must have experience with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, and FAA RTCA DO-160. Position also requires knowledge of test planning, data collection, data analysis, test report writing, and presentation of results. Further requirements include specialized knowledge and experience in the design, installation, operation, calibration, maintenance and repair of power quality test facilities, associated equipment, and their control systems.
