Job Responsibilities:

This position will support the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Branch. Responsibilities include researching, designing, developing, testing, and/or supervising the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. Will apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate airborne platforms, weapons, and avionics. May develop, operate, and maintain automated electromagnetic data acquisition equipment for the collection of induced electromagnetic transient data. Tasks also include analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and evaluating automated data processing software related to engineering or functional requirements of electromagnetic transient data collection. Other responsibilities involve providing input for test methods and procedures. May perform as an engineering team lead, develop engineering procedures and controls, manage project efforts, and take the initiative in problem resolution. Additional duties involve interfacing with system or program contractors, vendors, and government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering programs/projects, test scheduling/planning, and test execution. Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited ABET college or university and three (3) years’ experience in electrical engineering; OR an AA/AS Degree plus an additional four (4) years of related experience; OR a HS diploma/GED with an additional six (6) years of related experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, pass a drug screening test IAW U.S. Government standards, and obtain and retain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
  • Experience with radio frequency, electromagnetics, signal analysis, automated electromagnetic data acquisition equipment, Matlab, and LabVIEW software is highly desired.

Job Responsibilities:

Interpreting, analyzing, utilizing, evaluating, and recommending improvements to engineering drawings, schematics, parts lists, and specifications, while also assembling mechanical equipment accordingly. Must be able to clearly communicate and understand technical requirements/procedures as they pertain to mechanical/electro-mechanical SE, while also being capable of performing test and evaluation of SE items independently. Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum; or completion of at least thirty (30) semester hours of course studies in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
  • Must have six (6) years of practical experience as a SE technician performing organizational and/or intermediate level operations and maintenance on SE.

Qualifications & Requirements:

NRL Electronics Technician

NRL Electronics Technician:

Job Responsibilities:

This position supports the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Advanced Techniques Branch, Digital Technologies Section of the Tactical Electronic Warfare Division (TEW). Responsibilities include providing engineering support, maintenance, and testing services necessary to conduct EW Simulation research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E). Duties involve assisting in the electrical and mechanical design, development, operation, and maintenance of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) missile simulators and related equipment. Other tasks may involve interpreting and generating engineering data, design specifications, schematics, and installation drawings to support design, modification, and installation of flyable and land-based simulators and data collection devices. Other functions include conducting engineering analysis and performance evaluations of EW systems. Some travel will be required. May be tasked to perform additional duties on an as-needed basis. Position located at Naval Research Laboratory, DC. May work at other locations, to include NRL facilities, field sites, and aboard airborne commercial RDT&E aircraft during test flight events.
