NRL Electronics Technician

Job Responsibilities: 

This position supports the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Advanced Techniques Branch, Digital Technologies Section of the Tactical Electronic Warfare Division (TEWD). Responsibilities include providing engineering support, maintenance, and testing services necessary to conduct EW Simulation research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E). Duties involve assisting in the electrical and mechanical design, development, operation, and maintenance of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) missile simulators and related equipment. Other tasks may involve interpreting and generating engineering data, design specifications, schematics, and installation drawings to support design, modification, and installation of airborne and land-based simulators and data collection devices. Functions also include conducting engineering analysis and performance evaluations of EW systems. Some travel will be required. May be tasked to perform additional duties on an as-needed basis. Position located at Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC. May work at other locations, to include NRL facilities, field sites, and aboard commercial or military RDT&E aircraft during test flight events. Requisition ESI 0194.  

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • Position requires an Associate Degree from a technical training school. Allowable Substitution: completion of a military technical training school in electronics or avionics. 
  • Must have ten (10) years of experience in the design, fabrication, and installation of EW systems and related electrical wiring, cables, harnesses, connectors, and fiberoptic interfaces, as well as troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing circuit boards and their sub-components on military or commercial aircraft. 
  • Must have ten (10) years of experience operating IR missile simulators in field platforms, collecting simulator data, and subsequently reducing and analyzing the data.  
  • Must have five (5) years of experience with CAD programs and engineering formulae. 
  • Qualified to operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE), i.e., forklift, ordnance truck, transporters, etc.  
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Top-Secret level DoD security clearance. 
  • Must be aeronautically adapted, to include being free from motion sickness and claustrophobia, while operating airborne EW simulator systems during test flight events. 
  • U.S. military veterans with Electronics Technician or Aviation Electronics Technician experience are highly encouraged to apply. 
  • Salary range: $100k to $135k, depending upon experience and skillsets

PMA260 Program Analyst, Journeyman

PMA260 Program Analyst, Journeyman 

Job Responsibilities: 

Position reports directly to the Common Aviation Support Equipment Program Office (PMA260) Deputy Acquisition Lead serving as an acquisition analyst supporting the Common Ground Support Equipment (CGSE) Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL). Position will work closely with the PMA260 Acquisition, Procurement, and Financial Management teams, as well as program managers and other PMA personnel. Supports the development of program guidance, execution of acquisition strategies, and management of the procurement lifecycle from planning to contract award and follow-on modifications. Serves as the primary liaison between the IPTL, Procurement team/Contract Specialist, Business Financial Manager (BFM), and the Acquisition team to help improve the quality and efficiency of the procurement process across the PMA, as well as increase procurement efficiencies, decrease cycle time, execute Acquisition Strategies, drive pre-award competitive procurement conversations, and improve Support Equipment delivery timeliness to the Fleet. Duties may include performance of additional tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD, and some telework may be authorized on a case-by-case basis. Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in a program management, technical, or business analysis discipline related to aircraft/weapon/project acquisition and product programs within the Department of the Navy (DoN).  
  • BA/BS degree. Allowable substitution: AS/AA degree and an additional 2 years of experience OR a HS diploma/GED with an additional 4 years of experience. 
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have working knowledge of the acquisition process and tools including: 
    • Procurement Management Tool (PMT)
    • Common Spend Plan Tool (CSPT)
    • Research, Development, and Acquisition information System (RDAIS) 
    • Navy- Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) 
  • Active Secret level DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
  • Salary range: $80K – $120K/year, negotiable depending on experience/skillsets

Administrative Assistant (Part-time, on-call)

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include performing basic administrative/receptionist support, preparing travel requests, coordinatingtravel/lodging arrangements, and assisting in completing travel claims. Also performs word processing, data entry, transcription, graphics preparation, digital filing, document reproduction, email/mail distribution, and other administrative duties, as required. Maintains office supply inventory and orders replacements as needed. Schedules conference rooms, video teleconferences, and meetings. May be required to perform other tasks on an as-needed basis.  Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Position requires a high school diploma or GED and aminimum of three (3) years office-related administrative support experience, along with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • The ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate good customer service skills, work independently and in a team environment, and type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Proficiency in use of Defense Travel System (DTS), BASICS II, Common Message Processor (CMP) for Naval Messages, Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS), and MS Access are highly desired. 
  • Must be able to obtain/retain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
