Journeyman Logistician: Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Support

Job Responsibilities:

This position supports the NAWCAD Lakehurst Support Equipment (SE) Department, Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML) in performing Integrated Logistics/Product Support (ILS/IPS) related studies, analysis, and evaluations for the Common Aviation SE Program Office (PMA260) and associated Aviation SE programs. Duties involve performing tasks related to the sustainment and acquisition of NDI Equipment Commodities Common Support Equipment (CSE) including supporting ILS management and sustainment of various CSE and associated systems. Duties also include development and review of life cycle documentation (i.e. Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, User’s Logistics Support Summaries, Engineering Change Proposals, etc.); reviewing maintenance plans and Logistics Product Data; actively participating in logistics-related meetings and program/design reviews; analyzing in-service support equipment requirements to assist in identifying Fleet readiness/supply support issues and resolutions; develop/update/revise Technical Manuals; and analyze manpower, personnel, and training effectiveness to determine interim and follow-on training requirements. Positional duties may include performing other tasks on an as-needed basis. Onsite and hybrid schedules are strongly preferred; full-time remote work may be approved on a case-by-case basis for qualified applicants. Requisition #ESI 0200.  

Qualifications & Requirements:  

• Requires a BA/BS degree and at least (6) years of experience in acquisition and sustainment logistics or engineering, with two (2) years’ experience performing logistics program management. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Eight (8) years of military experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.  

• Must be a US citizen, have a valid state driver’s license, and must possess an active DoD Secret-level security clearance.  

• An SE-related background and experience with Naval Air Technical and Engineering Command (NATEC), Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS), NAVSUP One Touch Support, Web Federal Logistics Information System (WebFLIS), and Support Equipment Management System (SEMS) are highly desired.  

• Military veterans and former government employees with aviation SE and/or logistics support experience are highly encouraged to apply. 

• Salary Range: $90k – $120k/year, negotiable depending on experience/skillsets.

Engineering Technician III – Facilities Technician:  

Job Responsibilities: 

Functions as a Facilities Technician in support of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Technical and Engineering Support Services. Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as: 

• Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions; 
• Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment. 
• Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data.
• Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or, inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation. 
• Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information. 

Duties also include participating in aircraft moves as a wing walker, brake rider, or directs aircraft during towing, ground taxi, or ground turn operations; operates test equipment, simulators, instrumentation, and/or aircraft systems during testing in accordance with approved test plans or standard operating procedures; and coordinates maintenance activities or associated facility work projects to minimize impacts to facility customer utilization.

Duties may include performing other tasks on an as-needed basis. This is a nightshift position and is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Requisition# ESI 0204.  

Qualifications & Requirements: 

• Requires a High School diploma or GED and a valid US driver’s license.   

• Must be able to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.  

• Must be able to pass and maintain U.S. Government drug screening standards. 

• Must be able to obtain/retain a Secret level DoD security clearance. 

• Three (3) years of engineering technician experience is preferred.  

• Prior military and aircraft ground handling operations to include use of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) experience is highly desired. 
• Salary Range: $25.72-$28.79/hr depending on experience/skillsets.
