Logistician, Journeyman (GFE Coordinator)

Job Responsibilities:

Position directly supports the New Construction Ships Outfitting Program Manager within the Common Aviation Support Equipment (SE) Program Office (PMA260). In providing SE Integration and Management support services, the position functions as the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) logistics coordinator supporting SE outfitting of Pre-commissioning Unit (PCU) CVN/L-Class ships. Duties include conducting inventory management; coordinating/collaborating with stakeholders; tracking and communicating program requirements and timelines; and identifying/mitigating risks. Responsibilities include utilizing various tools and information systems to document actions, and offer recommendations and solutions that contribute to activity readiness. Other tasks include managing Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL) requirements; monitoring GFE program milestones; communicating progress; utilizing the Support Equipment Management System (SEMS) to monitor inventory, track shipments, and generate reports; coordinating, tracking, and monitoring Depot-level repair actions; and analyzing logistics data, inventory levels, timelines, and operational trends. Other tasks include performing work related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs and information systems. Additional duties involve working on logistics and maintainability programs and with logistics and maintenance control organizations on issues such as: technical evaluation and identification of weapons systems logistics requirements and resources; development of logistics support and maintainability programs or plans; systems acquisition requirements analysis; budgetary or financial analysis and control; LCC analysis and control; weapons systems hardware/software standardization and compatibility; IPS/R&M program T&E planning and execution; and, IPS/R&M program management analysis. Further responsibilities consist of collecting, compiling, analyzing, investigating, researching, or applying logistics, maintenance, acquisition, and/or financial data and information. Will develop, modify, prepare, or validate documentation in relation to automated logistics or maintenance data reporting systems, and management information systems. Positional duties may include performing other tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD and includes an 80/20 hybrid work environment (in-office and telework). Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree and at least three (3) years of experience in DoW life-cycle acquisition logistics; OR an AA/AS Degree plus an additional four (4) years of work experience; OR a HS diploma plus and additional six (6) years of work experience.
  • Must be a US citizen, possess a valid state driver’s license, and hold an active DoW Secret-level security clearance.
  • Required experience must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of weapons systems supportability and maintainability; knowledge of SE, maintenance planning, and familiarization with NAVAIR and FRC/Depot-level efforts pertaining to acquisition, repair, and modification/upgrade; and proficiency in utilizing information systems for tracking GFE.
  • Preferred experience includes demonstrated knowledge of various Naval Aviation aircraft platforms; familiarity with SE/maintenance stands used across aviation platforms to facilitate maintenance operations; leveraging large language models (e.g. GPT-based systems) for data analysis and process optimization; and utilizing data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) to analyze and present complex data.

Job Responsibilities:

Position directly supports the Common Aviation Support Equipment (SE) Program Office (PMA260) as a Program Analyst. Duties include applying analytic techniques in the evaluation of program/project objectives; analyzing requirements, status, budget, and schedules; performing management, technical, or business case analyses; collecting, calculating, organizing, and/or interpreting data related to aircraft/weapon/project acquisition and production programs. Duties may also include performance of additional tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD, and some telework may be authorized on a case-by-case basis. Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in a program management, technical, or business analysis discipline related to aircraft/weapon/project acquisition and product programs within the Department of War (DoW).
  • BA/BS degree; allowable substitution:
  • AS/AA degree and an additional 2 years of qualifying experience OR a HS diploma/GED with an additional 4 years of qualifying experience.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of federal/defense acquisition principles, policies, regulations, and procedures, to include understanding the Procurement Initiation Document (PID) and the Procurement Management Tool (PMT) processes, as well as NAVAIR program office operations.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have working knowledge of the acquisition process and Acquisition Management System (AMS)
    tools including: PMT, Common Spend Plan Tool (CSPT), Procurement related Tableau Visualizations
  • Active Secret level DoW security clearance and U.S. citizenship
  • Salary range: $80K – $120K/year, negotiable depending on skills/experience level.
