Engineering Technician IV (Test Cell):
Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a military or technical trade school in propulsion systems, electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, or armaments/ordnance; or completion of at least 30 semester hours of related technical courses. Must have at least ten (10) years of practical experience in propulsion system installation, repairs, and maintenance; experience in the operation and maintenance of Gas Turbine Engines in a test cell environment or other test cell experience is highly desired. Must also possess a general knowledge of engines, gearboxes, lubricant systems, bearing and gear systems, and hydraulic systems of various engines and accessories acquired through on-the-job exposure. Positional responsibilities include supporting the installation, setup, maintenance, and operation of engine test articles, control systems, support equipment, and facilities for NAWCAD Propulsion and Power Dept test operations. Additionally, duties involve modification and/or upgrade of existing test facilities, equipment, and data acquisition systems to meet specific program evaluation requirements. Handling, Servicing, and Inspection (HSI) Support Equipment (SE) Engineering Technician:
Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum; or completion of at least thirty (30) semester hours of course studies in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum. Must have six (6) years of practical experience as a SE technician performing organizational and/or intermediate level operations and maintenance on SE. Experience supporting an SE Program along with designation as an SE Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), or equivalent are highly desired. Duties include interpreting, analyzing, utilizing, evaluating, and recommending improvements to engineering drawings, schematics, parts lists, and specifications, while also assembling mechanical equipment accordingly. Must be able to clearly communicate and understand technical requirements/procedures as they pertain to mechanical/electro-mechanical SE, while also being capable of performing test and evaluation of SE items independently. Performance of duties may occur in afloat shipboard environments, along with ashore flight-line, hangar, and SE shop locations. Additionally, must possess a valid driver license and be able to obtain licenses/certifications for and the following SE licenses within 30 days of employment: forklift up to 20,000 lbs; A/S32M-19 Heavy Maintenance Crane; A/S32A-45 and A/S32A-48 Tow Tractors; NC-10C, A/M32A-108, or A/M24M-6 MEPPs; A/M27T-17 Mobile Load Bank; A/M27T-14 and A/M27T-15 Hydraulic Power Supplies; A/M26U-4B Nitrogen servicing trailer; 3,000 psi Portable Nitrogen cylinder; CAT III (Non-cab) Crane; and an Airfield operator license. Computer Specialist (Programmer):
Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical specialty. Basic experience includes at least three (3) years of computer systems related support, and a minimum of two (2) years' in the following software development related areas: LabView application programming environment; programming with C/C++, C#, VHDL, and/or Java; data acquisition devices; relational database operations; GUIs; software applications requirements research and analysis; software design, development, coding, troubleshooting, debugging, and documentation; and full software life-cycle development methodologies. Positional duties involve applying computer systems and IT programming principles to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software programs that are used to control and monitor test articles while recording data from multiple data systems. This position will also perform full-life cycle application development of complex computer-based test systems using LabView and text-based programming, and will provide inputs to software user documentation, comply with information security mandates, and support Configuration Management requirements. Junior Electrician / Technician:
Requires a high school diploma/GED; completion of a technical school is highly desired. Duties will be performed in support of NAVAIR's Propulsion and Power labs and will include: supporting the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools; connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components; inspecting electrical systems to identify hazards and defects; installing or modifying equipment per applicable electrical codes and regulations; and testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits. Engineering Technician (ATE/TPS):
Position requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of a Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) Operator/Maintainer course, and four years' experience operating/maintaining CASS stations. Qualification as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and/or CASS calibration technician is highly desired. Must be familiar with the use of common and peculiar shop tools and test equipment. Functional duties include providing support to engineers and technicians in the maintenance and operation of electronic Consolidated Automated Support Systems (eCASS) within a test and evaluation environment. Additional duties include the preparation of engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation, as well as performing functions such as Operational Test Program Set (OTPS) testing, government acceptance testing, and other U.S. Navy acquisition and sustainment support. Training for standard forklifts, overhead cranes, and other SE required in support of daily activities will be provided. Performs other tasks associated with maintaining an efficient ATE laboratory, as needed. Must have a valid state driver's license and possess an active Secret DoD security clearance. Sr. Electrical Engineer:
Candidate requires a BS degree in electrical engineering from an accredited ABET college or university. Must have at least 8 years of experience supporting RDT&E programs for military aircraft/weapon systems, including 6 years performing in the function areas described below. Must have demonstrated experience directing, monitoring, and/or participating in the installation, configuration, calibration, and operation of engine test systems, environmental chambers, associated instrumentation, and/or data acquisition systems used for testing propulsion and electrical power systems. Prior DoD acquisition work experience is preferred. The candidate should be capable of managing programs including writing proposals, developing program plans, and providing briefing material. Functions involve applying engineering principles to modify and upgrade laboratory electrical and instrumentation systems in support of power and propulsion RDT&E programs. Prepares procurement specification inputs, interface drawings, installation design packages, and calibration procedures to accommodate unique test requirements. Oversees systems modifications, installation, integration, and checkout functions. Performs test planning, data collection, and test data analysis. Candidate requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited ABET college or university. Must have at least 4 years of experience supporting RDT&E programs for military aircraft/weapon systems, including 2 years planning, directing, and/or participating in aircraft and laboratory testing. Functions entail providing support for electrical power quality testing and evaluation, including voltage and frequency transients/modulation, voltage distortion, and power interruption on various aircraft, shipboard, ground vehicle, and vendor prototype components and equipment. Additionally, the candidate will interface test articles with programmable power supplies and data acquisition equipment to conduct power quality tests, followed by analysis of test article responses for compliance with MIL-SPECS/MIL-STDs. In particular, candidate must have experience with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, and FAA RTCA DO-160. Position also requires knowledge of test planning, data collection, data analysis, test report writing, and presentation of results. Further requirements include specialized knowledge and experience in the design, installation, operation, calibration, maintenance and repair of power quality test facilities, associated equipment, and their control systems. Requires a BS or BA degree in Computer Science or related technical specialty; OR a HS diploma/GED AND an additional eight (8) years of combined education/experience working within a relevant technical field. Basic experience includes at least three (3) years of computer systems related support and requires certifications in Security+ CE (or higher) and in at least one Microsoft Operating System (OS) within 180 days of employment. Additionally, knowledge and skills relating to Windows Server 2016/Windows 10 and Active directory and group policy are essential, along with ability to address service requests, computer installation and maintenance, routine server maintenance, and server consolidation. Additionally, this position necessitates having knowledge in Windows Server OS Security directives, DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Risk Management Framework (RMF), System Security Scanning, System Patching and Helpdesk Applications. Positional duties involve providing systems administration support to maintain closed-loop network functionality; performing data backup, storage, and archiving routines; developing and submitting inputs to software user documentation; complying with NAVAIR information security guidelines; supporting configuration management requirements; operating computers, network servers, backup storage devices, and other peripheral equipment. Junior Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace):
Candidate requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering. Assists senior engineers and technicians in the investigation, analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, test, and/or evaluation of military aviation support equipment (SE) and associated support systems. Supports engineers and technicians in the test, repair, and modification of common and peculiar SE for Naval aircraft and weapon systems. Participates in requirements and performance evaluation reviews, as well as assists in preparing engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Performs functions such as system integration testing, government acceptance testing, and acquisition support with limited supervision. Must be familiar with the use of common shop tools and test equipment. Previous experience in an electrical systems or manufacturing environment is highly desired. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products in order to manage databases and generate basic test documents. Required physical activities include recurring walking, stooping, bending, light to heavy lifting (>35 lbs.), and climbing. Candidate will be trained in the operation of a standard forklift, overhead cranes, and other SE used in support of daily activities.
