DMSMS Logistics Analyst

Job Responsibilities: 

Functions as a logistician in support of the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) Program Office’s (PMA-290) P-8A Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Team. Includes independent and team efforts in the performance of DMSMS, obsolescence, and ILS/IPS-related analysis; requirements definition; and DMSMS planning, development, integration, implementation, and management activities as they apply to domestic and FMS MPRA platforms. Duties also include assisting with researching, analyzing, and loading/managing Bills of Material (BOMs) in obsolescence predictive/management tools, while using applicable GIDEP Alerts, CDRLs, supplier/OEM surveys, and supplier/OEM reports to mitigate program obsolescence risks and perform Life of Need Buys, identify alternative parts, support redesigns, etc. Additionally, develop BOM Screening Reports and Sustainability Analyses; compile DMSMS Cost Avoidance Metrics; determine cost-sharing across applicable MPRA FMS programs; provide OEM-managed obsolescence program oversight; monitor, collect, analyze, and evaluate DMSMS mitigation policies/processes; and provide data for contractual Notice of Escapements (NOEs) for counterfeit parts. Further, duties may include performing other ILS-related tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Requisition #ESI 0175

Qualifications & Requirements:  

  • BS/BA degree in Acquisition, Logistics Management, Business, or Management. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional five (5) years of acquisition or operational logistics management experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.
  • At least six (6) years of experience in operational logistics support or maintenance engineering. Three (3) years’ experience must be in technical analysis of operational ILS requirements and three (3) years of specific experience in operational logistics planning.
  • Experience with DoD EMALL, DECKPLATE, ILSMS, OneTouch, NATEC, JEDMICS, WebFLIS, ASSIST, GIDEP, Total Parts Plus, HIS BOM Manager, IHS Haystack, and ILSmart along with knowledge of Navy Maintenance, Supply, and Readiness Data are required.
  • Backgrounds in NAVAIR DMSMS are required.
  • Must attain DAWIA/DAU Level III Life Cycle Logistics certification (or equivalent) within 24 months of hire date.
  • Must be a US citizen, have a valid state driver’s license, and be able to obtain/retain an active DoD Secret-level security clearance.
