MK-48 Technical Publications Coordinator:
Position requires a High School diploma or GED, and at least four (4) years of experience in the Heavyweight Torpedo Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) environment understanding the application of procedure compliance, the Automated Process Control System (APCS), and technical publication conformity. Additionally, position requires accurate and efficient keyboarding skills and a thorough knowledge of MS Office products to include Word, Excel, and Access. An AA/AS along with four (4) years' experience in a technical/maintenance publications library is highly desired. Positional duties include performing verification reviews of the torpedo group's processing actions such as Objective Quality Evidence and maintenance efforts; reporting and processing deficiencies in accordance with the Customer's Quality Management System; conducting operational surveillance as part of oversight and compliance of QA requirements; reviews, prepares, and updates the MK48 Heavyweight Torpedo technical manuals and all inhouse documents; and provides monthly metric data for QA audits to the IMA. Also, position is accountable to the Technical Program Manager as the QA Top Level reviewer. Must have the ability to function independently and as a team member in an active and demanding work environment. May be required to perform other tasks as necessary. Engineering Technician III (CSE/PSE):
Candidate requires a High School diploma/GED and completion of a technical school, trade school, advanced armed services technical school, or completion of at least thirty (30) semester hours of course studies in a technical curriculum. Requires at least ten (10) years of practical experience in the aviation avionics field that includes four (4) years performing avionics equipment installations at the intermediate level maintenance level using avionics CSE/PSE. Experience with CASS/RTCASS systems is highly desired. This position performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed; selects or adapts standard procedures for equipment by using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions and equipment requirements, and is provided advice from supervisor or engineer as needed. Additionally, this position will performs one or a combination of the following typical duties related to CASS/RTCASS systems: constructs components, subunits, or simple models and/or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions; conducts various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selection, preparation, and operation of standard test equipment; extracts and compiles a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processes data, identifies errors or inconsistencies, and selects methods of data presentation; and assists in design modifications. Armament/Weapons Support Equipment (AWSE) Technician:
Candidate requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a military or technical trade school; or completion of at least 30 semester hours of technical or science related courses. Requires ten (10) years of practical experience as an SE/AWSE mechanic/technician, including four (4) years performing organizational/intermediate level operations and maintenance on AWSE. Candidate must be able to read, interpret, utilize, evaluate, and recommend improvements to engineering drawings, schematics, parts lists, and specifications, while also being able to assemble mechanical equipment accordingly. Must be able to clearly communicate and understand technical requirements/procedures as they pertain to mechanical/electro-mechanical SE/AWSE, while also being capable of performing test and evaluation of SE items independently. Position requires a BS/BA and at least 3 years of defense life-cycle (acquisition) logistics support experience, or 4 years' experience without a BS/BA degree. Additionally, must have a background in P-3/EP-3 maintenance along with maintenance control desk experience. Proficiency with supply support functions is highly desired. Provides assistance to logistics managers in performing logistics planning, execution, and management functions in support of PMA-290F Foreign Military Sales programs. Specifically, provides Integrated Product Support functions and sustainment planning efforts for the PMA-290F Norway Case Manager and DAPML. Participates in the preparation, coordination, operation, and post evaluation of Integrated Logistics Support reviews, Integrated Product Team (IPT), Maintenance Engineering Logistics reviews and other technical and logistics meetings. Engineering Technician III (Test Cell Propulsion):
Candidate must have a HS diploma or GED, and completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or completion of at least thirty (30) semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum. Must be able to obtain/hold held certification to run at least one type of engine in these facilities. Must have the ability to obtain a license to operate several pieces of aircraft Support Equipment. Must have 10 years of practical experience in the test propulsion field – operating and maintaining aircraft propulsion systems and associated support systems. Will operate and maintain gas turbine engine test facilities and associated propulsion systems support equipment. Will conduct various tests which may require minor modifications in test set-ups and procedures as well as subjective judgments in assessing measurements. Prepares items for test, operates items under test, and records the test data, identifying deviations resulting from equipment malfunctions or observational errors. Junior Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical):
Candidate requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Assists senior engineers and technicians in the investigation, analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, test, and/or evaluation of military aviation support equipment (SE) and associated support systems. Supports engineers and technicians in the test, repair, and modification of common and peculiar SE for Naval aircraft and weapon systems. Participates in requirements and performance evaluation reviews, as well as assists in preparing engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Performs functions such as system integration testing, government acceptance testing, and acquisition support with limited supervision. Must be familiar with the use of common shop tools and test equipment. Previous experience in an electrical systems or manufacturing environment is highly desired. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products in order to manage databases and generate basic test documents. Required physical activities include recurring walking, stooping, bending, light to heavy lifting (>35 lbs.), and climbing. Candidate will be trained in the operation of a standard forklift, overhead cranes, and other SE used in support of daily activities. Performs other tasks associated with maintaining an efficient mechanical/electrical laboratory, as required. Administrative Assistant (part-time/on-call):
Candidate requires a high school diploma or GED. A minimum of three (3) years office-related administrative support experience is desired. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required, along with being able to communicate effectively, demonstrate good customer service skills, work independently as well as in a team environment, and type a minimum of 40 words per minute. Proficiency in use of Defense Travel System (DTS), BASICS II, Common Message Processor (CMP) for Naval Messages, Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS), and MS Access is a plus. Performs basic administrative/receptionist support, prepares travel requests, coordinates travel/lodging arrangements, and assists in completing travel claims. Utilizes MS Office software to perform word processing, data entry, transcription, graphics preparation, digital filing, reproduction, email/mail distribution, and other administrative duties as required. Maintains office supply inventory and orders replacements as needed. Schedules conference rooms, video teleconferences, and meetings. Engineering Technician III (Test Cell):
Educational requirements include a High School diploma/GED; AND completion of a technical/trade school, advanced armed services technical school curriculum, course of training in a technical field, OR at least 30 semester hours at an accredited college/university in technical curriculum. Position requires at least six (6) years of practical experience in a "Relevant Technical Field"; AND one (1) year of experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings. Candidates must also possess a general knowledge of engines, gearboxes, lubricant systems, bearing and gear systems, and hydraulic systems of various engines and accessories acquired through on-the-job exposure. Positional responsibilities include supporting the installation, setup, maintenance, and operation of test articles, control systems, support equipment, and facilities for propulsion and power test operations. Additionally, duties involve modification and/or upgrade of existing test facilities, equipment, and data acquisition systems to meet specific program evaluation requirements. Experience in the operation and maintenance of Gas Turbine Engines in a test cell environment or other test cell experience is highly desired. Requires a BS or BA degree in Computer Science or related technical specialty; OR a HS diploma/GED AND an additional eight (8) years of combined education/experience working within a relevant technical field. Basic experience includes at least three (3) years of computer systems related support and requires certifications in Security+ CE (or higher) and in at least one Microsoft Operating System (OS) within 180 days of employment. Additionally, knowledge and skills relating to Windows Server 2008/Windows 7 and Active directory are essential, along with ability to address service requests, routine server maintenance, and server consolidation. Additionally, this position necessitates having knowledge in Windows Server OS Security directives, DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and Track-IT or other Helpdesk Applications. Positional duties involve providing systems administration support to maintain closed-loop network functionality; performing data backup, storage, and archiving routines; developing and submitting inputs to software user documentation; complying with NAVAIR information security guidelines; supporting configuration management requirements; and operating computers, network servers, backup storage devices, and other peripheral equipment. Junior, Journeyman, or Senior Engineering Technician:
Candidate requires High School diploma or GED and have either 1-year experience performing Engineering Technician functions or 24 credit hours of technical courses for Junior Engineering Positions; Journeyman and Sr. Engineering Technician positions require additional technical experience. Candidate must be familiar with electrical wiring and related components, as well as be able to interpret wiring schematics. Must also be able to operate basic hand tools associated with maintaining lab equipment, and be proficient in the use of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Candidate will perform technical and administrative tasks assisting other technicians and engineers in the operation and maintenance of Qualified Products List (QPL) laboratory test facility systems used to test wiring and connectors for military aircraft and associated systems. Specifically, candidate will provide assistance and technical support in matters related to aircraft wiring interconnect systems, such as the set-up, conduct, analysis, and reporting of qualification testing; monitoring, identification, and investigation of adverse trends affecting the quality of development, production, and installation of USN aircraft wiring and equipment; supporting the assessment of aircraft wiring and equipment performance and reliability; and evaluating and providing inputs to specifications, designs, processes, tooling, parts, materials, quality control, and production techniques of proposed installations. Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and work independently as well as in a team environment. Subject Matter Expert:
Candidate requires a high school diploma/GED and fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience in one of the following four (4) subject areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, or Training. Must have demonstrated experience in applying electrical power systems (EPS) principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, modify, upgrade, test and/or evaluate military aircraft electrical power components or systems. Prior DoD acquisition work experience is preferred. Candidate will primarily serve as an Instrumentation Engineering SME/Technician responsible for the design, development, fabrication, installation, calibration, operation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation systems and related components used in data acquisition and/or ground test control of aircraft engines and accessories. Prepares, calibrates, configures, operates, and collects data from specialized instrumentation systems to perform infrared, vibration, and sound measurement analyses. Sr. Electrical Engineer:
Candidate requires a BS degree in electrical engineering from an accredited ABET college or university. Must have at least 8 years of experience supporting RDT&E programs for military aircraft/weapon systems, including 6 years performing in the function areas described below. Must have demonstrated experience directing, monitoring, and/or participating in the installation, configuration, calibration, and operation of engine test systems, environmental chambers, associated instrumentation, and/or data acquisition systems used for testing propulsion and electrical power systems. Prior DoD acquisition work experience is preferred. The candidate should be capable of managing programs including writing proposals, developing program plans, and providing briefing material. Functions involve applying engineering principles to modify and upgrade laboratory electrical and instrumentation systems in support of power and propulsion RDT&E programs. Prepares procurement specification inputs, interface drawings, installation design packages, and calibration procedures to accommodate unique test requirements. Oversees systems modifications, installation, integration, and checkout functions. Performs test planning, data collection, and test data analysis. Candidate must be able to obtain/retain a Secret level DoD security clearance and may be required to perform other tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located in Patuxent River, MD. Candidate requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited ABET college or university. Must have at least 4 years of experience supporting RDT&E programs for military aircraft/weapon systems, including 2 years planning, directing, and/or participating in aircraft and laboratory testing. Functions entail providing support for electrical power quality testing and evaluation, including voltage and frequency transients/modulation, voltage distortion, and power interruption on various aircraft, shipboard, ground vehicle, and vendor prototype components and equipment. Additionally, the candidate will interface test articles with programmable power supplies and data acquisition equipment to conduct power quality tests, followed by analysis of test article responses for compliance with MIL-SPECS/MIL-STDs. In particular, candidate must have experience with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, and FAA RTCA DO-160. Position also requires knowledge of test planning, data collection, data analysis, test report writing, and presentation of results. Further requirements include specialized knowledge and experience in the design, installation, operation, calibration, maintenance and repair of power quality test facilities, associated equipment, and their control systems.
